This course focuses on advancing students’ fundamental knowledge of materials science to practical applications. Following Callister’s textbook “Materials Science and Engineering: An Introduction,” a classical introduction to engineering materials, students are to develop their own project in applying the broad realm of materials including metals, ceramics, composites, and polymers to various applications. Such advanced knowledge is crucial to students for future engineering applications in any industries.
